AMCP holds various meetings, forums, symposia, summits and other gatherings of experts to discuss topics of importance to managed care pharmacy. This section contains proceedings and findings and other documents that result from these events.

The AMCP Partnership Forum, Advancing Value-Based Contracting, which took place on June 20-21, 2017, gathered national and regional health care leaders representing health plans, integrated delivery systems, pharmacy benefit managers, data and analytics experts, and biopharmaceutical companies to reach an important consensus on addressing the operational, legal and regulatory changes needed to fully leverage this new payment system for health care. The proceedings document is anticipated to be published in the Journal of Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy in the fourth quarter of 2017. 


 

 2017 AMCP_PhRMA Foundation Banner 

On January 26-27, 2017, AMCP co-sponsored a conference with the PhRMA Foundation on the use of CER and PCOR by patients, clinicians, and payers. The conference centered on existing strategies to enhance uptake and use of CER/PCOR, as well as the needs and gaps in the uptake and use of CER/PCOR evidence. The recommendations developed during the conference are anticipated to be published in the Journal of Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy as a supplement over the summer in 2017. 


 2016 AMCP Oncology Banner 

The AMCP Partnership Forum, Driving Value and Outcomes in Oncology, which took place on November 15-16, 2016, gathered thought leaders to focus on the need to drive better value and outcomes in oncology for patients, providers, payers and delivery networks. Attendees discussed ideas and concepts to help sort through a wave of new oncology products coming to market each year. The proceedings document was published in the May 2017 issue of the Journal of Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy.  


 2016 AMCP Pre-Approval Banner 

The AMCP Partnership Forum, Enabling the Exchange of Clinical and Economic Data Pre-FDA Approval, which took place on September 13-14, 2016, gathered a diverse group of health care stakeholders representing managed care, the pharmaceutical industry, academia, providers, patients and others to develop recommendations for biopharmaceutical companies and health care decision makers to more easily communicate information on products awaiting Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval. The proceedings document was published in the January 2017 issue of the Journal of Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy.  


 2016 AMCP Diabetes Banner 

The AMCP Partnership Forum, Navigating Innovations in Diabetes Care, which took place on July 19-20, 2016, gathered national health care decision-makers to focus on innovations in diabetes care that are producing changes to treatment options, patient engagement, accountability and patient-provider interactions. The proceedings document was published in the December 2016 issue of the Journal of Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy.  


 2016 AMCP FDAMA Banner 

The AMCP Partnership Forum, FDAMA 114: Improving the Exchange of Pharmacoeconomic Data, which took place on March 1-2, 2016, gathered a diverse group of health care stakeholders representing pharmaceutical companies, managed care organizations, academia, health care providers and patient advocacy groups to develop consensus on a wide range of recommendations to make it easier for pharmaceutical companies to share pharmacoeconomic information with health care organizations that make coverage decisions. The proceedings document was published in the July 2016 issue of the Journal of Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy.

The Fifth Annual AMCP Foundation Symposium convened experts from the public and private sector on October 26, 2015, prior to AMCP Nexus 2015 in Orlando, FL, on innovative ways to take on the chronic disease challenge through prevention.

On September 16, 2015, AMCP hosted an Employee Health Benefits Executive Forum, which brought together 50 top executives from large U.S. companies and health plans across the nation for a full day of dialogue on critical issues facing the health care system.

The AMCP Partnership Forum, Driving New Advances in Dyslipidemia Management, which took place on September 16, 2015, gathered executives from health plans, pharmacy benefit management companies, community and specialty pharmacies and medical societies. The proceedings document was published in the April 2016 issue of the Journal of Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy.  


 2015 AMCP Biosimilars Banner 

The AMCP Partnership Forum, Biosimilars - Ready, Set, Launch, which took place on June 10-11, 2015, convened a meeting of multiple stakeholders to address current readiness of MCOs to optimize biosimilars; identify gaps, challenges, and opportunities with regard to biosimilars; and recommend education and training content to help AMCP best meet the needs of its members and stakeholders. The proceedings document was published in the April 2016 issue of the Journal of Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy.  


 2014 AMCP HPEF Banner 

On December 2, 2014, AMCP hosted its first-ever AMCP Health Plan Executive Forum, bringing together 60 health care executives from across the nation for a full day of dialogue on critical issues facing the health care system. 


 2014 AMCPF Symposium 

The Specialty Pharmacy and Patient Care: Are We at a Tipping Point? symposium was conducted on October 6, 2014, prior to AMCP Nexus 2014 in Boston, MA. The symposium examined the fundamental issues of access and affordability to specialty medicine and brought together payers, academics, and members of the pharmaceutical industry. 


 2015 AMCP Pain Banner 

The AMCP Partnership Forum, Breaking the Link Between Pain Management and Opioid Use Disorder, took place on September 9, 2014, gathered multiple stakeholders to recommend activities and programs that AMCP can promote to improve pain management, prevent opioid use disorder (OUD), and improve medication assisted treatment outcomes. The proceedings document was published in the December 2015 issue of the Journal of Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy.  


 2015 AMCP EPA Banner 

The AMCP Partnership Forum, NCPDP Electronic Prior Authorization Standards - Building a Managed Care Implementation Plan, took place on April 23, 2014, gathered key stakeholders to explore how to support the process of implementing the new standard transactions for e-PA and to recommend activities and programs that AMCP can promote to speed the adoption of e-PA. This Partnership Forum included individuals from managed care organizations, the pharmaceutical industry, pharmacy benefit managers, electronic prescription hubs or networks, and health information technology vendors. The proceedings document was published in the July 2015 issue of the Journal of Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy.  


 2013 AMCP Epilepsy Banner 

The Managed Care Integrated Care Summit on Epilepsy was held on October 15, 2013. The meeting report summarizes the unmeet needs of the epilepsy population and current perspectives and includes insights, comments, and recommendations by presenters and panelists who devoted their time and efforts to reconsider this puzzling disorder and how managed care organizations can improve both public health and individual patient outcomes.


 2014 AMCP TOC Banner 

The AMCP Partnership Forum, Electronic Solutions to Medication Reconciliation and Improving Transitions of Care, took place in June 2013, to explore how managed care pharmacy departments can work with their medication therapy management (MTM), ACO, community, and hospital pharmacists to collaborate in redesigning the Medication Reconciliation (MedRec) process for transitions of care. The Partnership Forum focused on electronic solutions to the MedRec process at admission and discharge, including the provision of key clinical assessment data. The proceedings document was published in the September 2014 issue of the Journal of Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy.
